Katsushika Hokusai's "Shichiri Beach in Sagami Province" is one of the most fascinating depictions of the Japanese landscape of the Edo period, capable of evoking harmony, movement, and visual depth in every detail. This artistic reproduction enhances the original work through a print on authentic Amalfi paper.

The scene depicts Shichirigahama Beach, between Kamakura and Fujisawa, a popular leisure destination for Edo residents. In the foreground, the curving coastline and the promontory with a large tree guide the eye towards the village of Koshigoe and then, in the background, towards the snow-capped Mount Fuji, the symbolic focal point of the series. The absence of human figures makes this print a rare example of "pure landscape," where Hokusai combines asymmetric composition, Prussian blue, and cumulus clouds of Western taste to create a harmonious view of sea and mountain.

Feel history under your fingertips

Our reproductions are faithful to the original and printed on precious Amalfi paper.

It is a paper made exclusively from cotton fibers, thick and naturally porous, yet soft to the touch, with characteristic fringed edges that attest to its artisanal craftsmanship.

It is still made today according to ancient medieval techniques, in the workshops of Amalfi.
