The Adoration of the Magi is one of the most beautiful moments of the entire Gospel. Warned by the comet star , three princes bring gold, frankincense and myrrh to a child who will be the Lord on earth, the Christ . The scene is extremely organized, balanced and ordered by the geometry of the background. The moment filmed is that of the delicate and respectful delivery of the first gift by a Magi. But on an artistic level we are faced with a revolution on a global scale : Giotto remains faithful to the Christian tradition, with such gentleness and sweetness in his faces, but uses perspective to guide the viewer's eye to understand the scene. And above all, it gives the painting a three-dimensional , in- depth aspect, overcoming the flattening typical of art before it. An ancient and traditional message is re-proposed with revolutionary techniques , which rewrite the rules of art.
