An original and exquisite photograph depicting the Netherlandish Proverbs, painted by Pieter Bruegel the Elder.
The Netherlandish Proverbs is an oil painting on panel (117x163 cm (46.1 x 64.2 in)) by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, dated 1559 and held in the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin.
With a cartographer's precision, Bruegel composed the various scenes into a veritable "land of proverbs", where the various human activities mirror a series of actions linked to a reflection on folly and vice.
