An original and highly prized photographic print of a detail of the Singing Angels, painted by Jan van Eyck.
The painting depicts eight heavenly angels. Although they have no wings, they are invariably identified as angels. All eight, dressed in brocade copes, stand around a lectern and sing the polyphonic music that flourished at the Burgundian court in Van Eyck’s time.
