The artwork
A luminous 18th-century view of Rome painted by Gaspare Vanvitelli, with Castel Sant'Angelo in the background to the left. The details are blurred; in the foreground, the Tiber is depicted with many boats and human figures in motion. On the right side of the painting is a palace with buildings. Note the changing hues of the sky, seen in the morning with mixed shades of blue and light blue on the right side, and lighter colors on the left. The dominant color is the infinite shades of blue that Gaspare Vanvitelli created.
This painting is also part of the extensive production Vanvitelli created during his stays in Rome. The painting is exhibited at Palazzo Pitti, Florence.
