The Romanesque church dominates the field, overlooking a canal traversed by boats, while the square extends to the right of the painting. The two churches of San Giovanni and San Paolo are side by side. On the other bank, overlooking the canal, there are beautiful buildings positioned side by side.
The sky is cloudy and Venice is very lively. The painting, an oil on canvas, is dated 1726 and features a similar depiction by Canaletto.
