The artwork

A splendid engraving of the Roman Forum, with a prominent tree-lined avenue, by Lievin Cruyl. The square is depicted as orderly and peopled, with the palaces of Rome all around the rectangular square. Three onlookers stand out at the top of a small hill. Above is a sky with a few clouds. The engraving is undated.
