In the foreground there is the column, located at the entrance to the river lock, perhaps a remnant of an older building. Further to the right there is a beautiful little church, in classical style, with a dome. Between the two monuments there is a peasant's house, housing the lock's inhabitants. Further in the background there is the lagoon, which merges in the distance with the clear sky on the horizon.
