An interesting historical view of Lobkowitzplatz in the mid-1700s, painted by Bernardo Bellotto. The square stands out, crowded with people and with carriages driving across it. A large palace dominates the left, while on the right the palace lies in its own shadow under the morning sun. Fine palazzi surround the square, and further back stands the church. The sky is clear but with a few clouds.
The painting, an oil on canvas, is dated between 1758 and 1761. Other variations of this work were made by Bellotto. The work is on display at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, Austria.
