An original view of a rural landscape with a monastery dominating the countryside, made by Lievin Cruyl. A distinctive feature of the monastery is its sequence of five entrance doors. On the left side a large tree stands out at the foot of a road busy with travellers and horsemen. In the background some mountains are barely visible; to the left of the monastery is some vegetation.
The painting is on display at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
