A luminous and unique view, characterised by shades of green, painted by Jan Frans van Bloemen. The scene depicts a landscape with trees on either side; in the foreground are travellers resting near the bank of a river. In the background is a fortress, beneath a white, clear sky. The handling of the morning light is very careful.
