A marvellous depiction of a hussar on a Lipizzaner horse, by Bernardo Bellotto. In the foreground is the rider with his splendid uniform, painted in detail by Bellotto. The white horse is trotting, riding among the ruins of ancient cities. The hussar is accompanied by a horsewoman; on the right a small waterfall can be glimpsed, with a bridge busy with oxen and carts. There is another variant of this painting, dated 1773.
