A most valuable and sought-after historical view of the Darsena, painted in 1702 by Gaspare Vanvitelli. The rendering of the shadows is particularly fine. Prominent are the moored boats and those arriving at the dock, painted in dark colours that contrast with the vivid light blue of the sky crossed by a few clouds. In the background at the top is the castle.
The painting is held at the National Museum of San Martino & Certosa, Naples.
