Original 18th-century engraving depicting a city across the river, created by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. In the foreground there is the riverbank, with a detail of a church, stalls, and scenes of daily life in the churchyard. Beyond the river there is a beautiful villa and other houses, while further in the background there is a mountain. The sky is covered in clouds.
The engraving is undated. Other variations of this work by Canaletto exist.
