The artwork
A rare 18th-century engraving of a bishop's tomb perched on a hill, created by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. The tomb is prominent on the left side, with a temple enclosed by an arched roof. Near the tomb there is a riverbank, while a city with its main monuments is depicted further in the background. The sky is clear with a few clouds on the horizon. The engraving is dated 1744. Other variations of this work by Canaletto exist.
The engraving is exhibited at the UCL Art Museum, University College London, UK.
