Claude Monet's Weeping Willows are a series of works made by the artist between 1918 and 1920.
These paintings were born in a particular period of Monet's life, marked by the end of the First World War, an event that had touched him deeply. In this context, the willows take on significant symbolic value, reflecting a sense of melancholy and, at the same time, of resilience.
Monet painted these pictures while continuing to explore the possibilities offered by his property at Giverny, in Normandy, where he had created the famous water lily pond.
