An evocative and rare view of Rocca Giovine on the mountain, made by Jakob Philipp Hackert. The fortress appears in the distance high on the hill, while closer by there is a family and, on a rise, some livestock grazing. The details of the hillocks, with their embankments and trees, are finely rendered. The road leading to the Rocca is long, while in the background there are clouds on the horizon. At the bottom of the picture is an inscription in French and Italian.
