The artwork
Interesting and historical view of the Flour Market in Vienna, painted by Bernardo Bellotto. The focus is on the square with a market in progress, crowded with people looking for a bargain. Beautiful buildings surround the square, while the church is depicted in the background. The sky is clear but with a few clouds.
The painting, an oil on canvas, is dated 1760. Two other variations of this work by Bellotto exist. The painting is exhibited at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, Austria.
