An original and unusual view, with a phosphorescent sky, of Via di Ripetta in Rome, painted by Bernardo Bellotto. The street runs alongside the Tiber, and the Roman palaces can be seen side by side. In front of the palaces the street unfolds with scenes of everyday life. A distinctive feature of the painting is the sky, with phosphorescent colours and shades of pale green and light blue. Another variant of this painting exists. The picture, an oil on canvas, is dated 1742.
