In the foreground is the Molo, busy with people, with a few boats moored. On the Grand Canal a few boats are manoeuvring. Further back stands the church of Santa Maria della Salute, lit by a pale morning sun. The sky is clear but with a few clouds on the horizon. The painting, an oil on canvas, is undated. Canaletto created other versions of this work.
The artwork is on display at the Musée de Grenoble, France.
