Rome is depicted in the distance, with the Tiber River seemingly flowing toward the viewer. The details are blurred, and the river is spanned by the bridge with its three Romanesque arches. Other smaller, more subtle vessels are visible near the bridge. Castel Sant'Angelo can be seen to the right of the painting, while the dome of St. Peter's is more subtle in the background. The sky is clear with a few white clouds.
