A beautiful and romantic historical view of the Tiber River, highlighted by the Ponte Rotto painted by Gaspare Vanvitelli. It highlights the life and activities of Roman citizens on the riverbank, while the Roman buildings, though not clearly defined, are visible in the background. Vanvitelli used many shades of brown to illuminate certain scenes. Along the river flow several small boats carrying goods or passengers.
Note the changing hues of the sky, seen at sunset, with mixed shades of blue and azure on the left side.
