A historic 18th-century view of the small harbour of Sorrento by Jakob Philipp Hackert. Prominent are two ships mooring in the harbour, while three other boats are drawn up on the quay for maintenance. The background is dominated by the rock, with the houses of Sorrento at its foot and, above, some trees and a palazzo. The sky is clear and serene, and the sea, with shades of green and light blue, is calm.
The painting is on display at the Royal Palace of Royal Palace of Caserta.
