Original and rare 18th-century painting of a view of San Giuseppe di Castello, by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. The foreground depicts the work on the canal, dried up and without water; there are planks and boards for the foundations to be redone. On the left side, painted crosswise, there are the Venetian public buildings, while a few people are working on the canal. The sky is clear, tinged with light blue and white, with a few clouds.
The painting, an oil on canvas, is dated 1740.
