A luminous and original view of the town of Pirna and Sonnenstein Castle, by Bernardo Bellotto. Prominent on the right, on a small hill and well lit, is the castle, while the town of Pirna lies further down the valley with its houses and buildings, from which the bell tower and church rise. On the right is a large, brightly lit green meadow where oxen graze, watched over by a herdsman. The sky is clear but there are a few clouds on the horizon. The painting is dated 1750; another variant of this work exists.
