A precise, historical view of Rome, featuring the Tiber and Castel Sant'Angelo, made by Lievin Cruyl in pencil and ink on paper. Above the roof of Castel Sant'Angelo the papal standard flies. St Peter's is seen far off in the background, while in the foreground is the river with its boats and the bridge reflected in the water. On the right side is a fine detail of a sailing ship moored at the bank, while on the opposite side a palace has an onlooker on the windowsill gazing at the view.
