A unique, historical view of Florence during a battle, featuring the cathedral and the square, made by Lievin Cruyl, with soldiers firing on the right side of the work. Also on the right side, in the background, are two sailing ships, while on the opposite side are Florentine palaces. The sky is cloudy; the outcome of the battle seems to favour the besiegers advancing towards the city centre.
