The Castello dell'Ovo is prominent.
The sky is cloudy, but the sun (not depicted in the painting because it is assumed to be in the observer's position) illuminates the port. The dominant color of the painting is blue, present in large areas of the sky and the light blue-green water of the Gulf of Naples. The painting is part of the Palatine Gallery & Royal Apartments of Palazzo Pitti, Florence.
