A fine and sought-after historical view of Naples, with a detail of the Darsena, painted by Gaspare Vanvitelli. A particular feature of this painting is the rendering of the shadows, with dark colours contrasting with the vivid light blue of the sky, crossed by a few clouds. Prominent are the moored boats and those arriving at the dock. The Castle is depicted at the top in the background.
The painting is held at the National Museum of San Martino & Certosa, Naples.
