The artwork
Interesting and historic view of the Lobkowitzplatz square from the mid-1700s, painted by Bernardo Bellotto. The square stands out, crowded with people and carriages moving across it. A large palace dominates the view on the left, while on the right the palace is covered by its own shadow by the morning sun. Beautiful buildings surround the square, while the church is further in the background. The sky is clear but with a few clouds.
The painting, an oil on canvas, is dated between 1758 and 1761. There are other variations of this work by Bellotto.
