Further in the background there are the Church of the Madonna della Salute and Punta della Dogana. A few boats can be seen in the Grand Canal. On the right side, a detail of the Column of San Todaro can be seen. The sky is cloudy and threatening, with dark clouds looming.
The painting, an oil on canvas, is undated and is part of a private collection. Another version of this work exists.
