The artwork
Original and luminous eighteenth-century engraving of Venice, seen from the Grand Canal, created by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto, with pen and ink on pencil and paper. In the foreground there is the canal and its boats navigating. On the right, transversely, there is the Doge's Palace. Further in the background, the splendid church of Santa Maria della Salute can be glimpsed. The sky is cloudy, but the day remains fine.
The engraving is dated 1730.
