In the foreground the entrance gate can be seen, with the door leading into the inner courtyard of the manor house (a building with a small tower behind the original dwelling). Prominent on the right-hand side of the painting are a lady and a gentleman in conversation. The sky is clear but there are a few clouds on the horizon. The picture, an oil on canvas, is dated 1753.
