On the right are the retaining walls of the bank of the river Tiber, and above them a church flanked by Roman houses. In the foreground are scenes of daily life and some townspeople observing the landscape. The sky is clear, a light blue shading into white that lends light in particular to the waters of the Tiber. There are two other variants of this painting. The picture, an oil on canvas, is undated.
