Double-hemisphere historical world map dated 1664 created by Joan Blaeu.

The map depicts the world as it was known in the mid-seventeenth century. Both meridians and parallels are present. The two globes appear suspended, with allegories outside the globes, and celestial figures positioned in the central upper part, outside the globes.

Joan Blaeu, also known as Johannes Blaeu, was a Dutch cartographer and publisher.

Feel history under your fingers

Our reproductions are faithful to the original and printed on precious Amalfi paper.

It is a paper made exclusively from cotton fibers, thick and naturally porous, yet soft to the touch, with characteristic deckled edges that attest to its handmade craftsmanship.

It is still produced today using ancient medieval techniques in the workshops of Amalfi.
