Castel Sant'Angelo is visible in the center, while on the right are a church and Roman buildings, rising within the retaining walls of the Tiber River. On the opposite bank, in the foreground, is a balustrade with observers gazing out over the landscape. The sky is clear with a few white clouds. Two other versions of this work exist.
