The work

Marcus Ulpius Nerva Trajan, born on 18 September 53 in Italica and died on 8 August 117 in Selinunte in Cilicia, was Roman emperor and soldier from 98 to 117. Considered by many modern historians as one of the most skilled and virtuous emperors, under during his reign the Roman Empire reached its maximum territorial extension, expanding into Armenia, Assyria, Mesopotamia, Dacia and Nabatea. Trajan is known for his social welfare policies, including the Institutio Alimentaria to support poor children in Italian cities, and for a vast program of public works that transformed Rome.
