Tiberius, the second Roman emperor , reigned from AD 14 to 37 and was a member of the Julio-Claudian dynasty . Born on November 16, 42 BC, Tiberius was the son of Tiberius Claudius Nero and Livia Drusilla, who later married Augustus, the first Roman emperor.
He was known for being a capable military leader and an efficient administrator, who sought to limit Rome's budget and consolidate the Empire's borders without seeking new conquests. However, his austere and introverted nature made him unpopular, and his administration was marked by political tensions and repression. At the end of his life, he retired to Capri , leaving the empire in the hands of others.
