A rare depiction of the Tiber Island, painted by Gaspare Vanvitelli. The island is located in the center of the painting and connected on either side by two bridges: a large double-arched bridge on the right, and a single-arched bridge on the left. Both are reflected in the Tiber. On the right side, a river landing is depicted with various figures engaged in their activities. The light comes from behind the viewer; in the background, the dome of St. Peter's and Roman palaces. On the left, near the bottom corner of the painting, rocks can be seen.
The painting is undated; this piece is also part of the extensive production Vanvitelli created during his stays in Rome.
