An original and very fine photograph depicting the portrait of Baldassare Castiglione, painted by Raphael.
The Portrait of Baldassare Castiglione is an oil painting on canvas (82 x 67 cm (32.3 x 26.4 in)) by Raphael, datable to 1514-1515 and on display at the Louvre in Paris.
The portrait is mentioned in a letter that Pietro Bembo addressed to Baldassare Castiglione on 19 April 1516; there was certainly mutual esteem, and perhaps also a personal friendship, between Raphael and Castiglione.
