An original and luminous depiction of the Molo in Venice seen from St Mark's Basin, by Giovanni Antonio Canal. In the foreground is the basin with all the boats. The painting shows the Doge's Palace, the bell tower and the other buildings of St Mark's Square. The sky is clear, with a few white clouds on the horizon. The painting, an oil on canvas, is dated 1730. Canal created numerous variants of this work.
