An original and rare 18th-century depiction of the Molo in Venice, in front of the Piazzetta San Marco, by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. A notable feature of the painting is the Molo with its quay and the moored boats, with sailors carrying out harbour work. Further back one can admire the church of Santa Maria della Salute. The sky is cloudy, but remains fair overall. The picture, an oil on canvas, is dated 1730. Canaletto created several variants of this painting.
