An original 18th-century view of the Molo in Venice with a detail of boats mooring, by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. We are near the church of Santa Maria della Salute, painted on the left, and the boats are neatly moored while the sailors carry out harbour work. The sky is clear, with a few white clouds on the horizon. The painting, an oil on canvas, is dated 1730. Canaletto created numerous variants of this work.
