An original and fine work depicting the Concert in the Egg, painted by Hieronymus Bosch.
The painting depicts a group of musicians playing inside an egg, a symbol of folly, alchemy and the world turned upside down. The work, based on a lost drawing by Bosch, is full of bizarre and allegorical details typical of Bosch's style, and shows the monk so absorbed that he fails to notice the pickpocket, highlighting a theme of vanity and spiritual distraction.
