The artwork

The drawing is a study of the entire design of the Triton Fountain, in Piazza Barberini, Rome. Triton is seen from the front with his conch shell raised close to his mouth. He sits on an open shell supported by dolphins, with the papal insignia of the Barberini held between their raised tails.
