A bright, original view of the market square of Pirna, made by Bernardo Bellotto. Elegant palaces overlook the square, busy with people looking for a bargain. The church, with its tall bell tower, is painted further in the background, but with fine detail. The sky is clear with a few scattered clouds. The painting, an oil on canvas, is undated. Four other variants of this work exist.
