A luminous and original view of the market square (Städtebild) of Pirna, by Bernardo Bellotto. Elegant buildings overlook the square, bustling with people looking for a bargain. The church with its tall bell tower is painted further back, but with fine detail. The sky is clear with a few scattered clouds. The painting, an oil on canvas, is dated 1764. There are five other variants of this work.
