The artwork
A luminous and original 18th-century painting depicting the Castello Sforzesco in Milan seen from the front, by Bernardo Bellotto. The castle dominates the landscape and is the landmark for the people of Milan. The castle walls, high and mighty, are prominent, while outside the walls there is a large courtyard with scenes of daily life. The sky is clear with a few white clouds on the horizon. There is another variant of this picture with different lighting.
The painting is on display at the Regional Historic Sites Management in Czechoslovakia.
