A marvellous, clear view of the imperial palace of Schlosshof seen from the front, by Bernardo Bellotto. The great fountain dominates the foreground of the scene, surrounded by the splendid Italian-style gardens. Further back and centrally placed is the imperial palace, with a detail of the entrance gate. The day is clear and serene. The picture, an oil on canvas, is dated 1758, and there are two other similar versions with variations in colour.
