An evocative glimpse of Via della Conciliazione, with the dome of St Peter's Basilica standing out imposingly in the background. The work highlights Rome's urban architecture, with historic buildings lining the street, making the whole a perfect fusion of cityscape and the majestic symbol of Christianity.
The lighting and the street lamps along the road guide the eye towards the basilica, creating a deep perspective that draws the viewer to travel the street in their mind towards the grand dome. The architectural element on the right, probably a column topped by an ancient statue, adds a further touch of classicism to the composition, recalling the historic greatness of Rome.
